Big Jolt has become extremely popular in China thanks to a large and active modding community. The platform supports a wide variety of play styles, with many designers developing their own interpretations and mechanical solutions. Due to this popularity, Big Jolt has repeatedly sold out on Temu China, with prices increasing multiple times during periods of high demand.
Some of the most well-known Big Jolt mods include the ball-valve mod, Zhu Rong mod, Zhu Rong Extra, and revolver mod, among others.
Zhu Rong Extra, designed by Mr. Liu, is based on the original Zhu Rong mod, with major changes to the feeding system and interaction style. By intentionally giving up part of the air seal, the design achieves a more interesting and efficient feeding method. This makes it especially suitable for indoor play and casual use, allowing the blaster to be loaded and fired easily at almost any time without strict operation timing.
The version sold here is a further refined iteration of the Extra version, with several small adjustments made to improve overall usability and handling.
Tested muzzle velocity: approximately 145–155 FPS (without BCAR)
145–155 FPS results were obtained using a 1.6 mm main spring (default installed).
A 1.5 mm main spring is also included, producing approximately 120 FPS (without BCAR) and providing easier priming.
Actual performance varies depending on dart type, condition, and individual setup.
All FPS data above was obtained using Worker yellow-body darts.
In testing and general use, Worker yellow-body darts generally achieve slightly higher FPS than purple/orange head darts, likely due to differences in foam thickness and resulting air seal behavior in dart-in-dart breech systems.
Due to manufacturing tolerances, inner barrels from different suppliers may vary slightly, and foam darts are not perfectly consistent in shape.
Based on testing, when using Worker purple-body darts, there is a chance that the dart may slide out of the inner barrel during loading.
For best reliability and consistency with the stated performance figures, Worker yellow-body darts, which fit more tightly with the inner barrel, are recommended.
The following limitations are inherent to the current design at this stage:
The trigger has no pre-travel take-up, resulting in a more abrupt firing feel.
The 3D-printed trigger with a return spring produces a firmer trigger pull, which may affect accuracy. This aspect may be improved in future revisions.
The original factory trigger offers a softer pull but suffers from poor long-term durability.
