To offer more choices in colors and finishes, filaments from different brands are used. Some parts of certain blasters cannot be customized because carbon fiber–reinforced PA6CF is used for long-term durability. Each filament has its own advantages and disadvantages. Compared with PLA, PETG is more heat-resistant and less prone to degradation, while PLA tends to produce fewer printing defects. Compared with standard PETG, PETG HF (limited to materials on this website) is slightly less strong but has a more matte, less glossy finish.
Compatible with Worker Talon Mags and ZWQ Narrow Constant-Spring Mags
The free version provided by this site is a modification by 疯子磊L @ Bilibili based on the original author’s design. It reduces the wobble of narrow magazines inside the magazine well (tested and proven very successful), but at the same time it eliminates the function of the magazine automatically dropping free. Of course, you can easily sand down the raised parts on the mod to achieve the magazine tightness that suits you best.

PLA (Basic) is easy to print and produces a cleaner finish, especially on parts with overhangs. It is stiffer and well suited for indoor use, with heat tolerance around 55–60 °C. PETG-HF offers improved heat resistance (~69 °C) and a matte finish, making it more suitable for moderate outdoor use. It is more flexible than PLA and should not be exposed to extreme heat, such as direct sun on very hot Australian summer days. PETG Basic is chosen for customers who need durability and heat resistance, especially for everyday or outdoor use. The trade-off is appearance: PETG Basic has a more matte, functional finish. It may not look as smooth or glossy as some other materials, but it is stronger and longer-lasting.

ZWQ S400 Zebra – Compact and Powerful

Marketed as S400 Chi Tu in the Chinese community, “Chi Tu” (赤兔) refers to the legendary horse ridden by Lü Bu, and later by Guan Yu in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
For the overseas version, the name becomes Zebra.

The 1.6 mm spring is not sold separately and is included with the blaster.
A 3D-printed magazine mod for Worker Talon magazines and ZWQ narrow constant-force magazines is also included.

Updated 2/04/2026: Someone bought the S400 together with an 18-round worker curved magazine. That reminded me that with the S400’s included basic magazine compatibility mod, when using a worker magazine, the mag has to be inserted in reverse (front-to-back). If it’s a straight magazine, there’s no issue—but with a curved mag, it looks quite strange.

To install the mod, just push it in as shown in gallery. To remove the mod, the magwell must be removed first.

Short Usage Summary

Compact?

Yes — compact and lightweight.

Priming:

Easier than expected with 1.6mm spring. A 2.0 mm spring significantly increases priming effort.

ZWQ wide magazine:

Outstanding build quality. It feels great in hand and is extremely solid. The only downside is that it currently fits only the S400.

Constant-force magazines (ZWQ wide & narrow):

Both completely changed the loading experience. Pressing darts into the magazine feels effortless and smooth. Constant-force mags are the kind of product that, once you try them, you get hooked. We didn’t love the appearance at first, but after using them, we decided we’ll keep using them. The difference becomes especially obvious with the ZWQ long constant-force magazine — loading 18 darts really shows how much easier it is compared to standard mags.

(On a purely personal level, I’m really afraid of spiders, so I tend to keep my mags fully loaded. Using a constant-spring mag makes me feel more at ease, and I worry less about foam darts being compressed over long periods.)

Build details:

  • Some of the metal parts could use better edge finishing. The rougher areas are mostly on edges that are not frequently touched, so they’re not sharp, but they don’t feel as refined as they could be. We’re also not big fans of the self-tapping screws used on the launcher.
  • A small number of orange and white blasters from the previous batch experienced paint chipping issues. According to ZWQ, this has been greatly improved in the current batch. This isn’t something that gradually gets worse over time. If it happens, it usually shows up early on, and the chances of encountering it are very low.We will check before shipping, but if anything slips through and you do run into this issue, no worries—we’ll replace it.

Overall:

Despite these small issues, its real-world performance fully lives up to expectations. At a price comparable to the Worker Seagull, it comes highly recommended, and we will be carrying it long-term.

About the paint peeling issue with the first batch of S400

The current inventory consists entirely of the second batch of S400. As claimed by ZWQ, the paint peeling issue has already been resolved in this second batch. Of course, we will still carry out inspections. If you receive a product with any issues, you are welcome to return it, request a refund, or get a replacement.

About the Transparent Version of S400

We have now received the transparent version of the S400. However, we currently do not have a fully satisfactory set of external modification parts.

Due to frequent handling, we have become accustomed to its appearance and can no longer reliably judge whether it maintains sufficient visual distinction as a toy launcher. Under daylight conditions, it can still be distinguished, but at night, this distinction becomes significantly less clear.

For safety reasons, we strongly advise users not to use it in public spaces, and to handle it with caution in private settings.

This video once again delivers a thorough and well-structured review of the ZWO S400, covering its performance, build quality, and real-world usage in detail. One point worth noting is the S400’s compatibility with Worker Talon magazines mentioned in the video.
